Based on the notion of natural reserves, this essay analyzes the harmful factors in reserves and offers some suggestions as how to improve the sustainable development and how to acquire harmonious coexistence between human beings and nature. Several aspects this paper discusses are as the following: the enhancement of legal status of natural reserves; the improvement of management system in natural reserves and the coordination between ecological interests and social interests; and the advancement of sustainable development in reserves.
